Weekly Report by Pastor Jim Cook Welcome to Victory Christian Center's Weekly Report. The Weekly Report is a glance at the previous weeks meetings, events and blessings. Each week we'll recall many of the great things the Lord is doing in our midst. Welcome to the Weekly Report for July 19-25, 2004 This just in from the AP news wire: God did not take the summer off at Victory Christian Center! Can you believe we are experiencing the life changing power of Jesus Christ throughout this summer? There's been times of incredible outpouring from the Holy Spirit. Times where the message didn't get preached because God intervened. Times where you sensed the presence of God so strong the best place to be was on your face. The old song used to say, "Let go and let God". That's what's happening. How blessed we are to have a church and a pastor who's not afraid to give God control. That may sound strange, like what pastor wouldn't want to give God control. But truthfully, it messes with your own security when you say to the Lord, "have your way Sir. Whatever You want to do is what I want." We are truly blessed. What did pastor Thomas say several month ago, "We are a PRESENCE DRIVEN church." Amen We've had a wonderful week with Brian & Brenda Gibbs. Brian is an anointed young preacher with a heart for God's presence. He could barely share for the tears Friday night as he spoke of those places and times in our lives that are memorials worth remembering. He continued that theme Sunday morning as he talked of our greatest mission being to pass on to the next generation the work of God. It's not about us, it's about us and them in what we leave behind. A reminder that this Friday night is our last River meeting for the summer as we take August off. Pastor Thomas will be sharing. Don't miss it! If you haven't been able to be at the building for several weeks, you should know that the youth center is coming along nicely. A roof and walls are taking shape. The workers are seeing daily progress. While we remember the words spoken over this new building and the promise of an explosion of youth coming in, we are also thankful for the faithfulness of God's people in their giving. Finally, as you enjoy the warm days and nights, why not invite someone over for some fellowship. We have a large church that's full of new folks who are waiting to meet others. There's a lot of people who would enjoy a cookout or some good conversation or a campfire. Let's take advantage of the summer days. May you sense the Favor & Blessings of God! |
